Dr. Damian Ploof, O.D. - Optometrist Damian Ploof received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He is a California native, having graduated from the University of California at Davis, receiving a bachelor of science in psychology. Dr. Ploof has extensive experience in family eye care, including contact lens fitting, and disease management. California State licensed and board certified in diagnostic and pharmaceutical agents, Dr. Ploof has the training and experience to diagnose, manage, and treat a wide variety of eye diseases and disorders. A unique aspect of Dr. Ploof's clinical experience is in regard to refractive surgery. He has worked solely in refractive surgery for a period of three years, with many of the top refractive surgeons in the nation. He has successfully performed pre and post operative care on extremely challenging surgical patients with successful outcomes. Dr. Ploof is fortunate to work closely with Dr. Mihir Parikh, M.D. of the Advanced Ophthalmology Institute, who is the team ophthalmologist for the San Diego Chargers, the San Diego Padres, and the SDSU Aztecs. When not in the office, Dr. Ploof likes working out, running, traveling, dining, and riding his motorcycle at local racetracks.
